
In the politics of West Bengal, amid speculations about rebel MPs of Trinamool Congress (TMC) joining or merging with any new political platform, an old public notice related to “Nationalist Citizens Party of India” has become a topic of discussion. It is said that this notice was issued under the rules of the Election Commission of India (ECI), according to which it is mandatory to inform the general public and invite possible objections before the registration of any new political party.
According to the available documents, a public notice regarding the registration of this political party was published in the English daily Millennium Post and Hindi newspaper Samiksha on October 13, 2022. The public notice stated that it was proposed to register a political party named “Nationalist Citizens Party of India”. In this, interested people were also told that anyone who wants to raise objection on the registration of the party can submit his objections to the Election Commission of India within the stipulated time limit after the date of publication.
Time limit for filing objections
According to the notice, the party’s office was located at the following address, Bibara, Holding No.-479, Village Natapara, Post Office- Bankara, Police Station- Bankara, District Howrah, West Bengal 711403. According to the public notice, objections could be filed within a certain period after publication. The last date for submitting objections in the document has been mentioned as December 13, 2022.
Increasing discussion in political circles
Amidst the recent discussions regarding the possible political change of rebel TMC MPs, new speculations have started in political circles regarding this old notification related to the party. However, an official announcement from the concerned parties regarding any possible merger, joining or political alliance is still awaited.
Political analysts believe that if any prominent leader or MP joins this platform in future, it may have an impact on the politics of West Bengal. However, at present there has been no official confirmation regarding this.
