If you were thinking of taking a break from WhatsApp, but did not want to delete the app and setup everything again later, then a new feature is going to be added to the app soon for you guys. The popular instant messaging app owned by Meta is finally working on a logout feature that will allow users to sign out of the app without losing their chats, settings and login information.
This feature appeared in WhatsApp Beta
WABetaInfo, a site that monitors WhatsApp development, has spotted this feature, this feature has been seen in WhatsApp Android beta version 2.26.21.9. It is currently available to some beta testers and may be rolled out to more users in the coming months. The report said, it has been seen in Android 2.26.21.9 update that the feature of logging out of WhatsApp app without deleting or losing data is being rolled out.
Till now, WhatsApp users did not have a proper logout option. If someone wanted to disconnect from the messaging app for some time, the only option he had was to uninstall it. Uninstalling required re-downloading the app, logging in, and restoring chats.
For many users, especially those who just wanted a break from the constant messages and notifications, this process was tiring. The new logout feature is coming to solve this problem. Users will be able to sign out of their account directly from WhatsApp Settings, while all their chats and account information will remain safely stored on the device. According to reports, the logout option is available in the account section in WhatsApp settings.
