Politics regarding bungalow has started once again in Bihar. Many senior leaders of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) strongly criticized the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government for ordering former Chief Minister Rabri Devi to vacate the government bungalow. He accused the government of doing ‘politics of revenge’. Countering the allegation, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that the government bungalow is not anyone’s inheritance.
Taking aim at the opposition regarding the government residence, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said on Tuesday, “The government bungalow is not anyone’s inheritance. Service to the public is most important. And on the instructions of the party, he can leave the government residence in just 24 hours.”
You should stop worrying about home: Samrat Chaudhary
CM Chaudhary took a sharp taunt and said that the son needs a separate house, the mother needs a separate house and the public should be left alone. We have come to serve the public, so leave aside the worries about home. The day the party and our leaders will say that your work ends here. Within just 24 hours, Samrat Chaudhary will pick up his bag and go to his private house and will not stay in the government house.”
Responding to Chief Minister Chaudhary’s statement regarding the bungalow, RJD spokesperson Ejaz Ahmed said that this cannot be the language of any Chief Minister. The Chief Minister himself is occupying two bungalows simultaneously. Revadi of the bungalow has also been distributed to many former ministers and former MLAs.
10 Circular Road allotted to Nand Kishore
Before this, Rabri Devi was asked to vacate the government bungalow. The bungalow at 10 Circular Road in Patna, where Rabri Devi and her family are currently living, has recently been allotted to state Fisheries and Animal Resources Minister Nand Kishore Ram. However, Nand Kishore was also allotted a government residence at 21 Harding Road a few weeks ago.
RJD’s Principal National General Secretary Abdul Bari Siddiqui accused the state government of targeting opposition parties criticizing its policies. He said, “The beauty of democracy lies in exposing the shortcomings of the government. If the government commits any mistake, it is the responsibility of the opposition to hold it accountable. But the ruling NDA coalition in Bihar wants the opposition to agree with the government on everything. Otherwise, it is harassed in different ways.”
RJD angry over CM’s residence
Siddiqui also raised questions on creating a public servant residence by combining the Chief Minister’s residence at 1 Anne Marg and the bungalow at 5 Deshratna Marg earmarked for the Deputy Chief Minister. Questioning, he said, “Chief Minister Chaudhary should tell why the Joint Chief Minister’s residence was created by combining both the bungalows and why it was named Lok Sevak Residence, while the Deputy Chief Minister is living in other bungalows.”
RJD state president Mangani Lal Mandal attacked the NDA government and said that the allotment of government bungalows should be as per the prescribed rules and standards, whereas this is not happening in Bihar. Mandal also alleged that the government was working with the intention of insulting former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family. The party may decide to go to court against the order to vacate the bungalow located at 10 Circular Road.
