33 years of police service, now serving monkeys
Malati ji served in Tamil Nadu Police for 33 years and retired in the year 2010. While people choose a comfortable life after retirement, Malti ji decided to become a support for the voiceless animals. From the year 2015, he started feeding monkeys in Tirupparankundram area of Madurai and since then this trend has not stopped till date.
Hundreds of monkeys come running at one sound
Every Saturday afternoon, Malti ji visits 6 different places in the area like Murugan Temple, Saravana Poigai and Cave Temple. About 350 to 400 monkeys live there. The amazing thing is that these monkeys recognize Malti ji’s voice. As soon as she calls out, all the monkeys come running towards her without any fear. Despite increasing age and health problems, she follows this rule every week without fail. Retired police officer Malti said, The peace and happiness I get by serving these voiceless animals is the real earning of my life.
