June 28, 2026 by Uma Shankar

A theft was reported late Saturday night at the house of retired judge Giribala Singh, one of the main accused in the Twisha Sharma murder case, following which the police have started investigating this high-profile incident. According to the police, three masked accused entered Giribala Singh’s house at around 2 am from the back door on the first floor. At that time only his elder son was present in the house, because Giribala Singh and his younger son Samarth Singh are in judicial custody in a murder case. Actually, this house is under investigation ever since the Twisha Sharma case came to light.

According to initial reports, the thieves stole gold jewelery and many important documents before fleeing. During routine patrolling at night, personnel deployed in a police vehicle observed suspicious activity in the area and approached the suspects for questioning. However, the three persons allegedly resisted the police, scuffled and managed to escape. While absconding, the accused allegedly left behind a silver bowl and a bag containing several documents. Police are now confirming whether the recovered items belong to Giribala Singh’s house or were stolen from some other place.

CCTV footage is being investigated

Confirming the incident, Assistant Police Commissioner Rajneesh Kashyap said that CCTV footage of the house and surrounding areas is being examined to identify the suspects. The police is also trying to find out which items and how much value has been stolen. However, the family members have not yet been able to trace the complete list of missing valuables and documents.

The family lodged a formal complaint

A formal complaint is being lodged by Giribala Singh’s family regarding this theft. Police have started a search operation to find the three accused and are taking the help of CCTV footage and other technical evidence as part of the investigation. This theft incident has raised new questions regarding the security of the property, especially because this residence has been important in the investigation of Twisha Sharma murder case and is considered to be an important place related to the ongoing case. Officials said that further information about the stolen property and the identity of the accused will be given only as the investigation progresses.
