The paper leak case will be heard in the fast track court. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced this on Thursday. Amidst the students’ agitation, PM Modi said that the culprits will not be spared. They will be given harsh punishment. After PM Modi’s announcement, the question arose that how many fast tracks will there be in the country and where will they be. So this information has also come to light. There is a proposal for fast track courts in four states, where the paper leak case will be heard.
It is proposed to set up fast-track courts on priority basis under the jurisdiction of Aurangabad and Nagpur benches of the Bombay High Court, Madhya Pradesh High Court, Calcutta and Delhi High Court.
Let us tell you that to stop paper leaks and punish them, The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act 2024 was enacted by the government and it is effective from June 21, 2024. Under this law, the punishment was made harsher to stop paper leaks. Under this comes the examinations conducted by UPSC, SSC, RRB, IBPS, Central Govt Ministries and NTA. Since the examinations conducted by NTA come under this law, cases related to unfair means (unfair methods) in these examinations will also come under its purview.
What will happen after the fast track is built?
After the formation of fast track court, there will be speedy trial. Hearing will be held daily. Punishment will happen soon. Currently, most of the cases registered regarding paper leak in the recent NEET exam are under the jurisdiction of Nagpur and Aurangabad benches of Bombay High Court and Kolkata High Court. Cases regarding lathi charge have been registered in the jurisdiction of Delhi High Court. In this regard, the Central Government has sent a message to the State Governments and the High Court and has given a message to create a fast track court and hold hearings daily.
