
Danish Azad Ansari, Minister of State for Minority Welfare of Uttar Pradesh, has given a big statement regarding the reorganization of Waqf Board. He said that according to the Act, Waqf Board will be formed in UP, in which two brothers of Hindu community will also be kept. In fact, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had announced the reconstitution of the Waqf Board last Sunday and had talked about including two Hindu members in it. This is the first state level Waqf Board in the country in which Hindu members have been included.
Danish Ansari also targeted Congress regarding Waqf and said that Congress does not read the acts, Congress wants to mislead Muslims. He said, ‘The central government brought the Waqf Amendment Act, 2025 with the aim of preventing looting, misappropriation and non-audit of Waqf properties. Many provisions were passed in this Act. After the introduction of this bill the opposition became silent. Today this bill has positive results. Proper audit and documentation of Waqf properties is being done, encroachments are being removed. Looting of Waqf properties was highest in Uttar Pradesh under the Samajwadi Party and Congress governments.
He said that under the Waqf Amendment Act, the structure of Waqf Boards has been made more inclusive than before. He said that according to the new provisions, Pasmanda Muslims, women, different sections of the Muslim community as well as non-Muslim members will also be given the opportunity to be represented in the board.
Waqf Board will be reconstituted according to the new law
The Minister of State for Minority Welfare further said that the Central Government has brought this law with the aim of better maintenance, transparent management and increasing accountability of Waqf properties. According to him, many such changes have been made in the amended law, which will make the functioning of Waqf Boards more effective and balanced. He said that reconstitution of Waqf Board in all the states including Madhya Pradesh will now be done as per the provisions of the new law. He has clarified that this law is applicable in the entire country and it is mandatory for all the states to follow it.
India is a country of all religions and communities
Danish Ansari said that when the process of formation of a new Waqf Board starts in Uttar Pradesh, it will be completed as per the amended Act, its related rules and bye-laws. The minister said that India is a country of all religions and communities, where all citizens have complete freedom to practice their religion. He said that the society should move forward with the spirit of mutual harmony, equality and development.
