Uproar after demolition
There is a lot of chaos before Bakrid in Mira Road adjacent to Mumbai. The ruckus started with the demolition of a shed built for goats in Poonam Cluster Society of Mira Road yesterday afternoon. This shed was built by people of Muslim religion. After a complaint from the Hindu side regarding the sacrificial goats, the local municipality came and demolished them. It is alleged that after this they started tying up these sheds again. At night people from some Hindu organizations started gathering there. Then there was an altercation between the two parties, then a scuffle and it is alleged that an attack was also carried out.
Yesterday afternoon, after protests by Hindu organizations and local citizens living in the building, the shed built for sacrificial goats was being demolished, but then the Muslim community started protesting against it and a complaint was lodged in the Kashi Mira police station. However, then the police pacified both the parties. But in the night there was a dispute again on the same issue and the matter reached the point of hand-to-hand combat. It was alleged that the Muslim side attacked a youth from the Hindu side with a blade. Police is investigating this matter and CCTV of the area is being checked. At present, police force is deployed at the spot.
