US President Donald Trump has given a big statement regarding the ongoing talks with Iran. He said that America wants to make a good agreement with Iran, but there will be no haste for this. If Iran does not accept American conditions, America can also take military action. In an interview given to Fox News, Trump said that America is trying to make a great deal.
Trump said that he wants a compromise because it can save the lives of many people. However, he clearly warned that if the talks were not successful, America would adopt another path. Trump said, I am in no hurry. Good compromise takes time. If you hurry, you will not get a good deal. Slowly we are getting what we want. But if our demands are not met, we will end it in another way.
Talking to Iranian leaders is not easy: Trump
Trump described Iran’s leaders as very strict. He said that negotiations are not easy, but America is succeeding in putting forward its terms. During the interview, Trump also mentioned the Iraq War. He said that America should not have gone to Iraq from the beginning. According to him, military action in Iraq was a big mistake. Trump also said that America should not have been in Iran, but considering Iran’s nuclear capabilities, action became necessary.
Trump claimed that if America had not attacked Iranian targets with B-2 bombers nine months ago, Iran could have had nuclear weapons today. He said that in such a situation, the picture of the entire Middle East could change and there could also be a big threat to Israel’s security.
US always has military options open
The US President also claimed that America deliberately did not completely target Iran’s regular army. According to him, America took action against some leaders and other groups, but did not try to completely eliminate the army.
Trump said that in many wars, countries suffer so much damage that they are unable to stand up again for decades. Therefore America showed restraint in some matters. However, he also made it clear that if Iran does not accept the American conditions, the option of military action is still open.
