Former MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has given a big statement regarding the alleged theft and embezzlement of funds from the donation boxes of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya. He said that if people associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement are raising this issue, then the government should take it seriously. He said that “there is no fire without smoke” and the questions being raised should be investigated impartially.
In Gonda, Brijbhushan Singh, while mentioning his old association with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, said that his student life was spent in Ayodhya and he had relations with almost all the major leaders of the movement. He said that he himself drove the vehicle during Lal Krishna Advani’s Rath Yatra and was also arrested before the firing on the kar sevaks. He further said that when the Babri structure was demolished, he was also among the accused named in that case.
‘People associated with the Ram Mandir movement are raising questions’
Brij Bhushan Singh said that if former MP Vinay Katiyar and other agitators are raising questions on the functioning of the Trust, then their words should not be taken lightly. He said that the questions of some people have merit and the government should get to the bottom of the entire matter. He said that this matter is no longer limited to trust only. Its finger is being pointed at the central government and the state government. I am confident that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are taking this matter seriously and soon the truth will be revealed to the country.
‘The people managing the system should answer this’
The former MP said that not the people associated with the Ram Mandir movement, but the people managing the arrangements of the temple should be held accountable for this controversy. He said that the kind of documents and allegations that are coming out have raised questions among the devotees. He said that this has caused a huge blow, but this blow has not been given by Vinay Katiyar or Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Questions have arisen because of those who are associated with the system.
Questions raised on BJP’s defeat in Ayodhya
Brij Bhushan Singh also mentioned the political loss suffered by BJP in Ayodhya. He said that there should be a serious review as to why the party had to face defeat on an important seat like Ayodhya. He claimed that the voice of the common people and their problems were ignored for a long time in Ayodhya. Many roads were closed in the name of temple construction and security arrangements, due to which the traditional connectivity of people with nearby districts and villages was affected. He said that years old religious and social traditions were disrupted, which had an impact on public sentiments and BJP also had to suffer political losses due to this.
Nripendra Mishra is completely innocent
Amidst the questions being raised on the officials related to the trust and temple construction, Brij Bhushan Singh defended the chairman of the temple construction committee, Nripendra Mishra. He said that Nripendra Mishra is an experienced and responsible officer and he discharged the responsibility assigned to him honestly. He said that it is not fair to blame all the people together. I consider Nripendra Mishra completely innocent. He has no fault in this matter. On the question of FIR and possible action, Brij Bhushan Singh said that the government is investigating the entire matter and will do whatever is appropriate. He expressed hope that after investigation the truth will come out and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
