The picture may soon become clear regarding the organizational reshuffle in Punjab Congress. The committee formed by party president Mallikarjun Kharge has submitted its report to the Congress high command. Ajay Maken met Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and K.C. This report was presented in the presence of Venugopal.
It is being told that the committee talked to about 70 leaders and got their opinion. The leaders were mainly asked whether the state president of Punjab Congress should be changed. He was also asked who should be the new face if there is a change and what is the reasoning behind that choice. The committee also considered deciding the strategy to be adopted at the organizational level to ensure the victory of Congress in the upcoming assembly elections.
Congress brainstorming on 5 important posts
In the report, suggestions have been given not only about the state president but also about many other important posts of the party. According to sources, the posts for which names have been recommended include State Congress President, CLP (Congress Legislature Party) leader, Working President, Election Campaign Committee Chairman and Manifesto Committee Chairman.
To change the President or not?
The committee has prepared the report keeping in mind two different situations. If the state president is changed, then a blueprint has been prepared as to which responsibility should be given to which leader. At the same time, even if the current president is retained, suggestions have been made to hand over the post to different leaders to maintain organizational balance.
Focus on caste and social equations
Recommendations for particular leaders were made keeping in mind the social and political equations of Punjab. To strike a balance between organization and electoral strategy, potential candidates were assessed on the basis of Sikh, Jat Sikh, Hindu and Dalit vote banks.
final decision soon
According to sources, Rahul Gandhi and Kharge will take the final decision soon after studying the report. It is believed that the decision of the high command regarding the organizational structure of Punjab Congress can be made public in the coming days. However, at present no date or time has been given regarding when this decision will be made public.
