Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal visited the Ram temple in Ayodhya on June 26 and later held a press conference in which he termed the FIR lodged in connection with the alleged embezzlement of donations at the Ram temple as a ‘hypocrisy’ and claimed that only junior employees were targeted, while ‘big people’ were being protected. Referring to the alleged theft of donations in the temple, he said, ‘I prayed that whoever is guilty of this ‘great sin’ should receive the harshest punishment from God.’
In the press conference, Arvind Kejriwal said, ‘Fake FIR, fake SIT were made, people were saved. The trust was theirs, the members of the trust were theirs, theft was happening daily in the trust, meaning theft was happening from the top level. Where did the stolen money go? Where did the billions of rupees go? Where is the destination of money? After I landed in Lucknow yesterday, an FIR was lodged. PMO asked for account of money, Champat Rai refused to give account. Hang all the demons who steal donations.
What did Kejriwal say about CM Yogi?
Accusing UP CM Yogi Adityanath, he said, ‘Maharaj ji, why are you supporting the donation thieves? These donation thieves are conspiring to remove you too. Don’t support these big sinners. The problem is that those who are involved in robbery are the ones who are filing FIR, they are saving themselves.
8 employees were arrested
On the FIR lodged by the police, the former Delhi CM said, ‘The FIR is just a show and pretense. 8 lower level employees have been arrested in this case. This scam was going on for a very long time. It is clear that only junior employees could not carry on such activities for so long. The strings of this scam reach very high levels, but efforts are being made to protect the big people and the entire blame is being put on these small employees.
