Congress and opposition parties have intensified their protest against the central government over the NEET paper leak and the demand for the resignation of the Education Minister. After protesting outside the Prime Minister’s official residence yesterday under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, many leaders reached Parliament wearing black clothes on Wednesday. The leaders reached Parliament wearing black clothes to protest against the alleged misbehavior with students and MPs by the security forces.
MPs from Congress, Samajwadi Party and Trinamool Congress (TMC) participated in the protest wearing black clothes. Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who reached Parliament House in black clothes, said, “What happened to us is not important. You people tell me whether what happened to the students is right or wrong? The demands of the students are legitimate and they are fighting for their rights.”
Peaceful protest is not undemocratic: Priyanka
He further said, “The education budget is Rs 1.4 lakh crore, but you are waiving off loans worth Rs 16 lakh crore of Adani and Ambani. But the students’ struggle is justified and they want change. Papers are being leaked again and again. There is nothing undemocratic in peaceful protests, but what is happening among the students and in the Parliament is undemocratic.”

Extending her support to the students, Priyanka Gandhi said, children are only demanding their rights. The papers of every exam are being leaked. Children are demanding their rights. Nothing to the farmers. Nothing to the poor. Nothing to the students. It’s just a broken system. The children are saying, please talk. What happens to children? Only children know this.” He further said that ours is a democratic demonstration. Do not discuss in the House. Leaders do not allow the opposition to speak. This democracy is not saved. The whole country knows that there is no democracy left in the country.
People scaring students: Kharge
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, “The House is not running according to the rules. BJP-RSS volunteers also work. They are scaring the students. If you try to crush our big leaders, people will come in lakhs. We are not afraid people. You will regret it again tomorrow. What was done to Rahul and Priyanka was not right.”

Speaking on the opposition protests, Congress MP K. Suresh said the decision to wear black clothes was a direct response to the “brutal” police action against the Leader of Opposition and other members of Parliament during Tuesday’s protests. He stressed that the protest at Makar Dwar was a way of expressing dissent against the high-handedness of the security forces.
He said, “Today we are wearing black clothes because we are protesting in front of Makar Dwar in protest against the brutality with which the opposition leader and other MPs were brutally treated by the police yesterday.”
Where is Pradhan’s moral responsibility: Venugopal
Joining this protest, RJD MP Sanjay Yadav criticized the central government for the recurring problem of paper leaks and unemployment reaching the highest level in 50 years. He accused the administration of adopting repressive methods against those youth.
On Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s tweet targeting Rahul Gandhi, Congress MP KC Venugopal said, “He has no moral responsibility to remain the Education Minister. Who will listen to him now? Where is his moral responsibility? People are demanding his resignation, and he will have to resign to save the children of this country.”
Congress MP Pramod Tiwari said on the protests led by opposition leader Rahul in the Lok Sabha, “We wore black clothes in protest against the way there was violence and the leader of the opposition was brutally detained. We support the 3 demands made by Rahul Gandhi. We will have to fight this government in the same way as our ancestors fought the British.
Earlier, Congress MP Pawan Kheda said, “All our MPs should wear black clothes to protest. This protest is against what they have done to the students of the country in Delhi. This protest is against Dharmendra Pradhan’s insistence on continuing in his post, and against the government’s attitude towards student dissatisfaction. All our MPs are wearing black clothes today in protest against the government’s decisions.”
