The murder of most wanted terrorist Hamza Burhan is being considered a big blow for Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. Hamza Burhan, who was the mastermind of the Pulwama attack, was shot dead in Muzaffarabad, POK on Thursday. But even after his death, ISI and terrorist organizations kept trying for many hours to show that Hamza was alive. After Hamza’s murder, some audio clips and news clips were circulated on social media and terrorist groups. It was being said in these that Hamza is alive, pray for him. ISI was continuously sending audio messages to the terrorist cadre that Hamza has not been martyred and he is alive.
Reason for saying Hamza is alive?
In fact, Hamza Burhan was not just a terrorist but a very important pawn for ISI. He was running many terrorist launching pads in POK. In these camps, terrorists were trained and brainwashed. Hamza, originally a resident of Pulwama, had created a large network of Over Ground Workers (OGW) in Kashmir. ISI feared that after Hamza’s death, information about his network and locations might come out. Therefore, even after his death, efforts were made to show him alive for some time.
ISI first wanted to verify and secure every launching pad, every contact and every terrorist asset related to Hamza. When this process was completed, information about Hamza’s death was given to his cadre. Ultimately Hamza’s death had to be announced among his cadre. After this, terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and other terrorist organizations started paying tribute to Hamza by sharing pictures with him on social media.
Indian agencies had information about Hamza
Hamza was working in a low-profile manner for a long time. He did not come forward directly, but used to carry out terrorist attacks in Kashmir through local networks. Many times the attacks were carried out by its network, but other terrorist organizations took responsibility. Due to this, ISI tried to mislead Indian agencies and keep Hamza hidden.
However, in the last three years, Indian agencies had received information about many terrorist attacks related to Hamza and his network. The rest was done by unknown attackers. According to Muzaffarabad Police, the attacker has been arrested and is being interrogated. Initial investigation has revealed that the attacker had recceed Hamza’s house twice before the murder.
