Vidisha News: With the first rays of the morning, the milkman went out to distribute milk in the streets like every day. There was a strange silence in the air. As soon as he reached the door of a house, he felt an unbearable stench. When he moved a little further, the ground slipped beneath his feet. Blood was flowing out from under the door frame of the house. The frightened milkman gathered courage and stepped inside the house.

The sight inside was enough to shock anyone’s heart. The decomposed body of a 42-year-old man was lying in the room, from which blood was oozing. But what was even more surprising was that amidst that horrifying scene, an elderly mother was sitting very calmly at the head of the dead body. A holy Bible was kept on the chest of the deceased.

Painful tale of superstition and affection

The milkman immediately raised an alarm and informed the police. When Vidisha SP Rohit Kashwani reached the spot with his team, the truth of this hair-raising case came out, which brought tears to everyone’s eyes.

Actually, that elderly woman was not a murderer, but a helpless mother, who was at the peak of mental depression where she could not believe that her son had died. The deceased youth worked in a renowned fashion designing company in Mumbai, but was ill for some time. After the death of his father, he was living alone with his mother in Vidisha, while his two other brothers live abroad.

“Everyone together killed my son…”

The mother herself is a retired teacher, but her son’s illness and loneliness had pushed her into deep depression. When her sick son died about five days ago, the mother’s mental balance completely collapsed. Under the influence of superstition and unwavering love, she placed the Bible on her son’s chest and started praying day and night for his revival.

Neighbors told that there was a foul smell in the area for the last three-four days, but the mother was doing her normal work as usual, hence no one got suspicious. When the milkman asked the woman, she simply said, “Everyone together killed my son.”

Even the police were stopped from touching the dead body

When the police reached inside, that deranged form of Mamta stopped even the policemen from touching the dead body. The mother felt that the police would interrupt her prayer. After much effort and persuasion, the police took the body into their custody and informed his brothers living abroad. At present, the police is waiting for the post-mortem report so that the exact cause of death can be revealed, and the elderly mother has been kept under medical observation.
