June 1, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi interacted with some CBSE Class 12 students who had raised questions about their exam marks. During this, the leader talked to the students about the shortcomings allegedly found during the re-evaluation. The leader supported the students by sharing the video of this discussion on his social media platform X.

In the video, students gave detailed information to Rahul Gandhi about re-evaluation. It is told how much paper fee is charged. While sharing the video of this conversation, Rahul raised questions on CBSE. He also raised questions regarding re-evaluation fees. In his post he said, ‘Beware of pickpockets – today they are sitting inside CBSE. What do you get if your marks are wrong due to CBSE mistake? One bill: Digital scan copy: ₹100/subject, Re-totalling: ₹100/paper, Re-evaluation: ₹25/question.

Rahul raised questions on CBSE

Rahul said that a child may have to pay up to ₹ 2000 for correct verification of his own answer sheet. In such a situation, when 4 lakh children have submitted such applications, it is worth wondering how much CBSE is earning. He said that when the scanning is done through phone, wrong marking is certain and the child is paying the cost of getting it corrected.

‘CBSE’s mistake, the child is punished and the government earns’

He said that CBSE is at fault and the child gets punished, while the government earns money. He said that when education is made a business and not a service, then the mistakes are not rectified but are increased and our children are paying the biggest price for this – with their time, with their confidence, and with their future.

Vedant Srivastava was also included among the students

Also included in the discussion was Class 12 student Vedant Srivastava, whose ex-post went viral when he received the wrong answer sheet under CBSE’s On-Screen Marking (OSM) system. During this, Vedant talked to Rahul Gandhi about whether he was called an anti-national, a deep state agent or a Pakistani. Rahul jokingly calls him Sorus agent.

Rahul said in a post, ‘An interesting conversation with my fellow anti-national Soros agents. Vedant and his friends are brilliant, courageous young Indians who asked simple questions to CBSE and the Modi government – but got insults instead of answers. They deserve a bright and secure future. We will ensure that they get it.

Vedant went viral on social media

During the conversation, student Vedant claimed that after raising questions about the results, he was even called an anti-national and Soros agent on social media. According to the students, they had asked for photocopies of their answer sheets as part of the revaluation process, in which they found many irregularities.

Vedant said that the cover page of the answer sheet was his and he could recognize his handwriting, but the writing on some of the pages inside did not appear to be his. Students allege that some answers were not evaluated and many correct answers were given less marks than expected. Students said that they tried to contact CBSE and the concerned authorities several times regarding this issue, but they did not get a clear response. Vedanta said that when he expressed his concerns on social media, attempts were made to defame him and he was accused of destabilizing the system.
