The government is going to make a big change regarding the purchase of petrol and diesel from July 1. The government has taken an important decision to remove the maximum limit of 200 liters on the sale of petrol and diesel per person and per vehicle. This new rule will become effective from July 1.
The limit came into effect on June 12
The government had issued an order on June 12 limiting the sale of petrol and diesel from retail petrol pumps. Under this rule, the purchase of petrol or diesel for any one vehicle was limited to 200 liters in a day. After the implementation of this system, big vehicle owners were facing a lot of difficulties in getting fuel filled as per their requirement.
Decision was taken to crack down on wholesale buyers
The government did not take this step suddenly, but there was a solid commercial reason behind it. This restriction was mainly imposed to prevent bulk purchasers from using retail outlets. In fact, when customers purchasing oil in large quantities started turning to retail pumps, the possibility of fuel availability being affected for common consumers increased. To control this situation, capping of 200 liters was done.
Arrangements will be normal from July 1
Now considering the situation in the market, the government has decided to remove this ban. This limit of 200 liters will be completely removed at petrol pumps from July 1. After this decision, customers will now be able to purchase fuel as per their requirement. This step of the government will provide maximum relief to those transporters and owners of big vehicles who require more fuel at one go to cover long distances.
