The increasing dominance of AI! Satya Nadella said- Some companies can destroy the entire industry

June 15, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has given a big warning regarding Artificial Intelligence. He says that if a few selected AI companies control all the information and knowledge, then the existence of many industries may be in danger. Nadella said that in such a situation, companies will lose their real value and will remain just data supplying units. He has expressed the need to adopt a balanced and responsible approach regarding the future of AI.

Complete control should not go into the hands of some AI companies

Satya Nadella, in his thoughts shared on social media platform X, said that no one wants a future where some AI models capture the value of every industry. He believes that today AI models are learning large amounts of knowledge, data and experience of companies. If this situation continues, many companies may lose their identity and competitive strength. Nadella said that society will also not accept such an AI future which weakens the entire industry from within. He warned that development of technology is necessary, but its benefits should reach all areas.

We will have to avoid repeating the mistake of globalization

Nadella compared the current phase of AI to the initial phase of globalization. He said that at that time many industrial economies had become weak due to outsourcing. On the surface the economic figures looked good, but at the ground level employment and industries had suffered losses. Nadella believes that a similar danger exists with AI also. If a few big companies concentrate the entire technological power in their hands, then the independence of other industries may be affected. Therefore, AI development will have to be taken forward in such a way that economic balance is maintained along with innovation.

Growing concern about control over data

Not only Microsoft, but heads of many other tech companies have also expressed concern about this issue. Snowflake CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy had said that companies building large AI models want access to enterprise data from around the world. According to him, in future the rest of the companies may remain just a pipeline providing data. Meanwhile, Box CEO Aaron Levie says that AI can now do expert level work in areas like law, strategy and scientific research. In such a situation, the biggest question for companies will be that when everyone has the same AI capability, then how will they prove themselves different from others. Experts believe that in the future, data, context and specialized knowledge will become the biggest strengths of companies.
