Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal again slammed the Modi government over the vehicles getting damaged due to E-20 petrol at the service centres. He said that I talked to some car mechanics and car owners in Delhi on ethanol-rich petrol. There was a queue of vehicles damaged due to E-20. There is also a huge decline in the mileage of vehicles.
He said that everyone is worried. Modi government will have to understand that the ground reality will not change by giving false interviews and holding fake press conferences. Stop imposing E-20 on people. Now the water is going above the heads of the middle class.
Car owners share their experiences
Sharing the experience of vehicle owners during their visit to service centers in Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal Asked the mechanics named Ashraf and Jasveer Singh present at a service center, what is the truth about the uproar about vehicles getting damaged due to E-20? Both of them told that the vehicles are getting badly damaged and people are bringing them by pushing or pulling them with cranes.
A person present there showed him his new 2023 model Honda City vehicle which was not starting for a week despite being E-20 compatible. The mechanic told that despite being new and E-20 compatible, this vehicle was missing, its fuel pump was damaged and the injectors were choked. The most surprising thing was that the mileage of that vehicle which was earlier 22, has now reduced to only 13.
Queue of broken vehicles at service center
Arvind Kejriwal told that many such vehicles were parked at the service center. The mechanics showed the injectors and said that due to E-20, carbon is coming on them, due to which they have to be changed four times a month and this problem is not being fixed. A set of four pieces costs 7 to 8 thousand rupees. The vehicles which earlier used to give an average of Rs 15, are now giving an average of Rs 10, due to which people are directly incurring a loss of 30 to 33 per cent.
During this time, Arvind Kejriwal also met the owner of a 2017 model Maruti car, who had brought his car tied to a crane because it was shutting down every 500 meters and its spark plugs and injectors were damaged. Apart from cars, the condition of scooties and bikes was also the same, whose mileage has reduced to less than half. Seeing this ground reality, Arvind Kejriwal said during the conversation that the government can at least give the option to the people that those who want to take E-20 should take E-20 and those who want to take pure petrol should take petrol.
After the service center, Arvind Kejriwal went to a petrol pump in Delhi and got to know the experiences of the common people filling petrol there. A customer present there told that his 7 year old car has broken down three times in two months due to E-20, he had to change the fuel pump and the mileage which was earlier 15 with AC, is now 5 to 8. Another car owner said that earlier a tank of petrol used to last for 12-13 days, but now it is barely lasting for 7 days.
E-20 is not supporting old vehicles
He told that people had clearly said that E-20 is not supporting the old vehicles at all and there is a problem of knocking in the engine. Customers also expressed their displeasure over the fact that if ethanol is being mixed in petrol, then its price should be reduced, but they have to pay more than before and the life of the vehicles is also getting reduced.
What is the condition of other countries regarding ethanol?
After hearing these problems of the people, Arvind Kejriwal said that I have also studied other countries on this subject. Countries like Brazil took 50 years to implement it, whereas our government has forcefully imposed it on the people in just three years. Other customers present at the petrol pump also said that the mileage of their vehicles has fallen from 40 to 32 and from 45 to 35, which means they are directly incurring a loss of 25 percent. There is a huge anger among the people regarding E-20 petrol and the government is forcibly implementing it without giving any option.
