The degree remained in vain! Big businessmen became fans of the ‘desi mind’ of this sugarcane brother.

June 29, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Nowadays social media But the rate card of a sugarcane juice seller is going viral. People have become convinced of his business sense. Often we think that heavy words like unit economics and resource management are only for tie-suit wearing corporate giants, but this desi shopkeeper has explained the real mathematics of business to everyone without any degree. It happened like this LinkedIn But a user named Ananya Narang shared the photo of this sugarcane cart, after which people are continuously discussing it.

Anyone will be shocked at first after seeing the rates written on the cart. Sugarcane juice with ice is Rs 25, without ice is Rs 30 and half glass is Rs 20. It is strange to see how the prices reduced after giving extra ice. Is this a printing error? Actually there is an amazing mind behind it.

Understand the real ‘desi mathematics’ behind this

This is the simple calculation behind this. When ice is added to a glass, it occupies about 25% to 30% of the glass. That means the shopkeeper has to put less actual sugarcane juice in it. Ice costs much less than sugarcane juice, reducing the overall cost of the glass.

If the customer asks for juice without ice, the shopkeeper has to provide 100% pure sugarcane juice. In this, more raw material is spent. To recover this extra cost, he has kept the price higher by Rs 5. Commenting on the LinkedIn post, a user wrote, this person, without any college degree, has taught the lesson of unit economics, which big startups spend crores of rupees to understand.
