
The Supreme Court on Monday refused to hear the petition filed against the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) early. Rejecting the petition, the court said that it should not be taken so sentimentally. There is no such serious need, we will look into it further. Advocate NK Goswami, on behalf of the petitioner, had demanded an early hearing from CJI Surya Kant.
On the petition filed against the Cockroach Janata Party, which has been in the news on social media for some time, CJI Surya Kant said, “There is no need to take it so emotionally. We will look into this matter further.” He further said, “There is no such serious emergency right now. Let’s see what happens.” Recently, this party came into existence on social media after a comment by the Chief Justice.
Earlier today, petitioner’s lawyer NK Goswami had demanded an early hearing of the case from CJI Surya Kant, saying that the party is tarnishing the image of the judiciary. On this the CJI said that do not take it so emotionally.
Another lawyer said that the petitioners are demanding a CBI inquiry into the case of fake lawyer degrees. It also said that the conversations held in the court cannot be used for commercial purposes. To this the CJI replied that there is no such serious emergency right now.
Cockroach Janata Party campaign started after a statement given by CJI Justice Surya Kant regarding youth and cockroaches. However, Justice Surya Kant later clarified his comments and said that a section of the media had misrepresented his words.
The founder of the satirical party, Cockroach Janata Party, is Abhijeet Deepke. Abhijeet is a resident of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar of Maharashtra. After completing his graduation degree from Pune, Abhijeet became a part of the communication team of Aam Aadmi Party and stayed there for a few years. After this he went to Boston University for further studies.
