
The question paper of Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) in Maharashtra was leaked 24 hours ago. This exam was to be held on Sunday (29 June). Due to cancellation of exams, the politics of the state has now become heated. The opposition is continuously making sharp attacks on the government. While taking action against the paper leaking gang, the police have detained three accused from Bhiwandi.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra State Examination Council Deputy Commissioner Priya Shinde said that the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) to be held on June 28, 2026, has been postponed for the time being due to the paper leak case.
1,728 examination centers were created
He said that a total of 1,728 examination centers were set up in 37 examination center areas across the state. Keeping in mind the irregularities that occurred in the NEET 2026 examination, all security measures were taken by the Maharashtra State Examination Council. 18,000 AI based CCTV cameras were installed. Every center was to be monitored from the state and district control room. There was a system of biometric and face recognition for the candidates.
6 lakh 125 candidates had to appear for the exam
It is being told that the examination was to be conducted for about 6 lakh 125 candidates, but after the incident of paper leak came to light, it has been decided to postpone the examination. Shinde said that the new date of the examination will be announced soon.
In a written statement issued by the Maharashtra State Examination Council, it has been said that conducting the teacher eligibility test with complete transparency is the top priority of the council. Due to the need for a thorough investigation into the paper leak issue, the examination scheduled for June 28 has been postponed.
Three people were detained
Here the opposition has accused the ruling government of leaking question papers first in NEET exam and now in TET exam. The opposition has called this government the government that leaks question papers. The opposition says that this issue will be raised in the House. In this case, the police took action in Bhiwandi and detained three people. At present, the police is investigating the entire paper leak racket and the role of other people involved in it.
