Tension is increasing between Israel and America, Netanyahu said – do not need their help, if needed then we will attack Iran.

July 1, 2026 by Uma Shankar

The friendship between America and Israel is well known. But Israel seems to be distancing itself from America due to the conflict with Iran and ongoing talks regarding a peace agreement. The situation has become such that Israel’s relations with America are no longer normal. There is bitterness between the two. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu gave a big statement and said that now we do not need America’s help. Also said that if necessary, we will enter Iran for the third time also.

Emphasizing his country’s strong economic self-reliance, Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu announced a major policy change aimed at ending US economic aid. He said that the strong economy of our country no longer needs any foreign help. Talking about financial relations with Washington, PM Netanyahu said, “I want to stop American aid. It’s like welfare aid. I don’t want it.”

Our economy is no longer small: PM Netanyahu

PM Netanyahu emphasized that due to Israel’s current strong economic condition, external funding is negligible. He said, “Our economy is no longer a small economy. We can fund ourselves with a small part of our GDP from America. I want this process to be started from this year itself.”

The Prime Minister also expressed his views on issues related to regional and sovereignty in the Gulf region. Reiterated his government’s strong opposition to granting statehood to Palestine. He said, “Israel is the country of the Jewish people. There will be no Palestinian state here.” Taking an aggressive stance on national security, he said that the army will maintain a proactive stance against external enemies. “We will adopt a proactive security policy – we will not simply sit behind the fence and wait,” he said.

…will attack Iran for the third time: Netanyahu

Referring to Israel’s continued operations against regional threats, Prime Minister Netanyahu issued a direct warning of pre-emptive cross-border strikes against Tehran’s nuclear and military infrastructure. He said, “We entered Iran twice to save ourselves from destruction. If necessary, we will do the same for the third time.”

Regarding Lebanon, Netanyahu also confirmed that the Israeli Defense Forces will maintain their operational position in Lebanese territory to counter enemy groups. He explained, “We have not left Lebanon yet. With the consent of the Lebanese government, we have created a security cordon for about 10 kilometers inside that country. But because of this, Hezbollah is very angry. Same is the situation with Iran.”

While taking stock of the troop deployment in the northern region, PM Netanyahu reiterated that the military presence there will remain in place until cross-border threats are eliminated. He told the soldiers present there, “Our position is clear. We are not going to leave southern Lebanon until the threat ends. Hezbollah is here armed and threatening us, so we will remain here.”

Silence on Israeli settlements in Gaza Strip

Also, this announcement from his side has been made after the recent signing of a framework agreement brokered by Washington between Beirut and Tel Aviv, the purpose of which is to maintain long-term stability and end the militarization of Iran-backed Shia militias. Under the terms of the diplomatic agreement, any potential withdrawal of troops by Israeli security forces is contingent solely on the Lebanese government successfully establishing special operational zones where the country’s military takes over security.

However, when the question was asked regarding the possibility of re-establishing Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip, the Prime Minister maintained a deliberate diplomatic silence. He said, “In the case of resettlement of settlements in Gaza, you have to be prepared to work first and talk later. Sometimes it is better to keep the two separate. That is why I will not say anything more on this topic.”
