After the paper leak, NEET 2026 exam is going to be held again on June 21. This time, keeping in mind that the paper should not be leaked, Telegram has been temporarily blocked but now it seems that some people are making arrangements to access the app. According to industry experts, instant messaging app Telegram has stopped working for existing users in India after the government temporarily banned access to the app, but it is still working through Virtual Private Network (VPN).
There was a huge surge in Google trends due to VPN
People are increasingly finding ways to avoid these restrictions. NDTV report states that in Google Trends data, a huge jump has been seen in the search for VPN for Telegram. Voyager Infosec Director Jiten Jain told during a conversation with news agency PTI that blocking Telegram will not solve the problem of paper leak. It will continue to work through VPN, which bypasses the Indian server and connects to the foreign server.
What is VPN?
VPN, also known as Virtual Private Network, is a security tool that creates a private, encrypted tunnel between your device and the Internet. It hides your real IP address and scrambles your data, making your online activity unreadable and undetectable by hackers, trackers, and even Internet Service Providers (ISPs).
Order received from government, Telegram removed from Google-Apple store
The government has directed Google and Apple to remove the Telegram app from their app stores by June 22. This step has been taken to prevent paper leaks during the re-examination of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) to be held on June 21. Additionally, in a separate directive, Telegram has also been asked to shut down the message-editing feature for already posted messages in India by June 30.
