Even before the sun rose on Sunday, tanks, armored vehicles and alert sirens started echoing on the streets of Iraq’s capital Baghdad. Greenzone, which was considered a safe area of the world, was transformed into a cantonment. Now whether this is the fire of rebellion or a conspiracy, it cannot go anywhere. It is officially being called a judicial operation against corruption. But the inside story indicates something else.

It is claimed that a major coup conspiracy was hatched in Iraq. But just before this conspiracy could reach its conclusion, the army crushed it. On Sunday morning at 5.54 am, armored vehicles armed with weapons entered the Green Zone. Firing started in the Green Zone at 6.08 am. And at 8 in the morning a wing of the Iraqi Army attacked the Sikma Complex in the Green Zone. It is close to the complex and the American Embassy. Where many big politicians of Iraq and their families live. Therefore, first the American Embassy was closed and then an operation started.

Behind which it was claimed that this action has been taken only on the orders of the court. And in this action the target was on the corrupt leader. But questions were raised on this action because many of the leaders who have been arrested from the Green Zone are considered supporters of Iran. They are claimed to be related to militia groups operating in Iraq and the biggest allegation is that these arrested leaders were plotting a coup in Iraq. Before they could succeed in their plans, the Special Forces ended their game overnight.
Military action is not just a coincidence
This massive military action that took place very close to the American Embassy is not just a coincidence. This is proof that even today Iraq remains the biggest arena of diplomatic and proxy war between America and Iran. The warrants issued against corruption are actually an attempt to break the network which wanted to make the power in Baghdad dance to the tune of Tehran.
However, the action has now stopped. But direct action against pro-Iran factions means that political and military tensions could flare up on the streets of Baghdad in the coming days. So is this the lull before a big storm in Iraq?
