Swift action against drug smugglers in Jammu, bulldozer running in Miran Sahib area amid heavy security

A 100-day intensive campaign for ‘Drug-Free J&K’ was launched by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on April 11. The objective of this campaign is to destroy the network of drug smugglers and create a mass movement by saving the youth from the clutches of drugs. Under this campaign, swift action is being taken against drug smugglers.
Major action was taken against drug smugglers in Miran Sahib area of ​​Jammu. According to the information, the administration took bulldozer action at the house of a notorious drug smuggler in Miran Sahib area of ​​Jammu. During this period, strict security arrangements were made. A large number of policemen were deployed outside the house. This action of the administration created a stir in the area. A huge crowd of people gathered at the spot.

More than 800 FIRs registered since April 11

In fact, after Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha started the 100-day de-addiction campaign, Jammu and Kashmir Police is taking vigorous action against drug smugglers. More than 800 FIRs have been registered since April 11. At the same time, 33 illegal structures of drug smugglers have been demolished by the Jammu and Kashmir administration.

Many accused arrested from different districts

Police arrested many accused in different districts of Jammu division, recovered intoxicants like heroin and demolished illegal properties related to drug trade. Police say that the campaign will continue to completely eliminate the drug network from the area.

12 grams of heroin recovered in Janipur

Police patrolling in Janipur area saw two youths roaming in suspicious condition near Matador stop in the forest area of ​​Lakkar Mandi. As soon as they saw the police, both of them started running away, but after chasing them for a short distance, they were caught. The arrested accused have been identified as Abhinandan Sharma, resident of Lakkar Mandi and Rajat Kumar, resident of New Plot. During the search, about 12 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from them. In this case, an FIR has been registered under the NDPS Act in Janipur police station and further investigation has been started.

Couple’s house raided in Kishtwar

Here in Kishtwar district, police have arrested notorious drug smuggler Rameez Raja alias Tarif Janda and his wife Nobia Begum. The police had received secret information, after which a special team raided his house in Sarkoot in the presence of the Magistrate. During the operation, about 7.5 grams of heroin-like substance and Rs 87 thousand in cash were recovered. Both the accused were arrested on the spot. Police have registered the case and started searching for other people associated with the network.

Interstate drug smuggling exposed in Katra

During the hotel checking operation in Katra of Reasi district, the police arrested Rakesh Kumar of Nagrota and Manjeet Kaur of Amritsar. During investigation, Manjeet Kaur was declared an interstate drug smuggler. About 2.5 grams of heroin and other objectionable materials were recovered from both of them. Further investigation also led to the arrest of Varinder Singh, resident of Mari, Reasi, who had allegedly come to purchase the drugs. Rs 26,730 in cash was recovered from him.

Illegal property demolished in Udhampur, seized vehicles will be auctioned

Along with this, in Udhampur, police and district administration took joint action and demolished the illegal property of habitual criminal Tarlochan Dutt, resident of Samroli, Chainani. According to the police, this property was built on government land with the money earned from drug trade. Apart from this, permission has also been obtained from the court to auction four vehicles seized in NDPS cases of Majalta police station area.

Police officials reiterated their commitment to eliminate the drug menace from the area and warned that strict action will continue against those involved in the drug trade.
