Suryansh Shedge along with number 9 batsman scored 104 runs, Agarkar’s ‘master stroke’ worked

June 15, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Suryansh Shedge: The pitch on which Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Prabhsimran Singh did not bat. Where Tilak and Rituraj Gaikwad also got out early, Suryansh Shedge did wonders on the same pitch. This right-handed all-rounder, batting at number 7, played an innings of 72 runs in 66 balls. 2 sixes and 3 fours came from his bat and the strike rate of this player was more than 109. Suryansh Shedge along with Viparaj Nigam added 104 runs for the 8th wicket, on the basis of which India A scored 265 runs. Viparaj Nigam also scored 51 runs while batting at number 9.

Amazing work of Suryansh Shedge and Viparj

Batting first on the Dambulla pitch, India A lost 7 wickets for just 143 runs. It seemed that India would be dealt with before the A200 but after this Suryansh Shedge And Viparaj Nigam together took over the team. Both the batsmen batted aggressively and pushed the Sri Lanka A bowlers onto the backfoot. Both scored runs at a strike rate of more than 100 and Suryansh scored 72 runs with the help of 2 sixes and 3 fours. Apart from him, Viparaj Nigam played an inning of 51 runs in 49 balls. Had these two not added 104 runs, India A team would never have reached 265 runs.

Ajit Agarkar’s masterstroke

Suryansh Shedge has performed amazingly in this tri-series. This player made good contributions with the bat in all three matches. In the first match he scored 26 unbeaten runs. In the second match, 40 runs came from his bat and now he played an inning of 72 runs. After this excellent performance of Suryansh Shedge, credit is being given to Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar. Actually Suryansh Shedge does not have much experience in List A cricket but despite this Ajit Agarkar gave him a chance in India A. Shedge is being prepared for the future as he plays the role of a finisher as well as medium pace bowling. In this series, Shedge has performed well in difficult conditions in all three matches and he can become a big player in the future.

India A’s performance against Sri Lanka A

Talking about India A, the top order and middle order batsmen disappointed a lot. Prabhsimran Singh was out after scoring 11 runs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi once again could not play a big innings despite a good start. He played an inning of 21 runs. Rituraj Gaikwad tried to control the innings but 37 runs came off his bat. Tilak Verma scored 23 runs, he played an inning of 15 runs. Nishant Sindhu played an inning of 6 runs.
