Solar eclipse always occurs on Amavasya Tithi. The first solar eclipse of the year 2026 occurred on Amavasya date on 17th February. Now the second one will be held on 12th of August. This will be the last solar eclipse of the year 2026. This will be an annular solar eclipse. That means during the eclipse the Sun will appear like a glowing ring of fire. Timing of the last solar eclipse of the year 2026

Hariyali Amavasya will occur on the last solar eclipse of the year 2026 on 12th August. On this day, the eclipse of the Sun will occur at 09:04 in the night. The end or salvation of this solar eclipse will happen on Thursday, August 13 at 04:25 am. According to astronomy experts, the main phase of this solar eclipse can last for 06 minutes 23 seconds. For this reason it is being counted among the long duration solar eclipse.

Importance of Sutak period

Sutak period has special significance during solar and lunar eclipse. The Sutak period of solar eclipse starts 12 hours before the eclipse time. Bathing, charity, sleeping, eating etc. are prohibited during Sutak period. There is no worship. The doors of the temples are closed, but at the place where the solar eclipse is not visible, its Sutak period is not valid.

There will be no effect of this solar eclipse in India

Since this solar eclipse is starting at 09:04 in the night according to Indian time, hence it will not be visible in India. Therefore, the Sutak period of this solar eclipse will also not be valid in India.

Where will this solar eclipse be seen?

The last solar eclipse of the year 2026 will be visible mainly in Greenland, Iceland, Spain and countries in the Arctic region.
