Now the next and last solar eclipse of the year will take place on 12th August, on the new moon day in the month of Saavan. The first lunar eclipse of the year occurred on the day of Phalgun Amavasya.

Now the last lunar eclipse of the year will take place on the new moon day of Saavan month on 28th August, on the day of Saavan Purnima. The festival of Rakshabandhan will also be celebrated on this day. The time of eclipse is not considered normal in the religious scriptures. Follow these rules during eclipse

Do not consume food: According to religious beliefs, it is not considered right to eat food during solar or lunar eclipse. According to beliefs, the effect of negative energy increases during this period. Not only this, prepare food before the eclipse starts. Add basil leaves to food and drinks.

Do not broom and mop: Do not sweep or mop during the eclipse period. The time of eclipse is best for meditation and chanting the name. It is considered auspicious to do household work after the eclipse ends.

Don’t sleep: Sleeping during the eclipse period is considered inauspicious. It is said that, when a solar or lunar eclipse occurs, one should chant mantras, meditate and remember God.

Do not sew, embroider or knit: Do not accidentally use sharp objects for sewing, embroidery or weaving during the eclipse. Cutting nails or hair during this period is also not auspicious.

Do not worship: The doors of the temple are closed at the time of eclipse. Worship is not done. Apart from this, touching the idol or breaking Tulsi is considered completely prohibited at this time.

Pregnant women should not leave the house: Pregnant women should avoid going out during the eclipse. This is because the eclipse can have inauspicious effects on both the mother and the child.
