Speaking at the trailer launch of ‘Ikka’, actor Sunny Deol talked about the efforts to make ‘Damini 2’, how the sequel to Damini could never be made. It has been almost 33 years since this film was made. After this, this is the first time that Sunny Deol will play the role of a lawyer in a movie. The trailer of ‘Ikka’ is quite powerful, which has courtroom drama, emotion and suspense. This film is ready to release on OTT platform Netflix on July 10.
‘Ikka’ is also special for the movie fans because actors Sunny Deol and Akshay Khanna will be seen together on screen after almost 29 years. Earlier they were seen together in the border. Why was Damini 2 not made?
Sunny Deol said, “Definitely, I didn’t get a chance after Damini and as soon as this subject (Ikka) came to me, I was happy, we were trying so hard to do Damini 2, but nothing happened with Damini 2. We were trying so hard to make ‘Damini 2’, however, nothing ever happened”. He further said that when Ikka came to him, he was happy because it gave him an opportunity to again do the kind of role (lawyer) which he has always enjoyed.

Sunny Deol’s dialogue ‘Taarikh par Tarikh’ from the film Damini is still seen being spoken by people even today. This film, released in 1993, is one of the most popular courtroom dramas. Sunny Deol received the National Film Award for ‘Best Supporting Actor’ for his brilliant acting in this film.

Sunny Deol also talked about the experience of sharing the screen with Akshay Khanna once again. He also talked about his good moments working with him in the film Border. Regarding Akshaye Khanna’s calm nature, he jokingly said, “I have known him for so many years, and he is more aloof than me,” and then laughed.
