Both these movies are included in the list of blockbuster films of Sunny Deol's career. The makers had printed crores of rupees by making 'Border' and 'Gadar'. But very few people know how much fees Sunny Deol received for these films. Sunny Deol's 'Border' and 'Gadar' had made a lot of money at the box office. These films earned more than what was spent on making them. However, Sunny Deol was given very less fees than the earnings of these films. Sunny Deol took three times more money for 'Gadar' than 'Border'. In the 1997 blockbuster movie 'Border', Sunny Deol charged a fee of around Rs 1.2 crore for playing the role of Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri. This fee was the highest among the film artists at that time. Apart from Sunny Deol, other actors of this film got fees in lakhs. Sunny Deol got Rs 4.5 crore for the blockbuster film 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha' released in 2001. It was considered a huge amount at that time. After this film proved to be a blockbuster, Sunny Deol increased his fees. Talking about the collections of 'Border' and 'Gadar', Sunny Deol's first film 'Border' cost Rs 10 crores to make and did a business of Rs 55 crores worldwide. At the same time, the budget of the later film 'Gadar' was Rs 18 crore and it collected Rs 132 crore worldwide.
