
Tension continues after the death of a student in Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The headmaster has resigned due to the incident. Apart from this, Saurabh Taru Biswas, Somnath Bairagi and Samaresh Dhara have been suspended for beating and torturing the student. A group of students and parents have made serious allegations of assault, physical and mental torture against the head teacher, house master, PG and several hostel staff around the incident.
He claims that hostel Many types of physical and mental pressure were being put on the students for a long time. Even a house staff is accused of torturing a student while drunk every Friday. There is anger among students and parents when the allegations came to light.
A meeting was held between students, parents and mission authorities to resolve the situation. Secretary of Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission Swastra Gyanand Maharaj was present in the meeting. However, the complainants say that the officials could not give satisfactory answers to many of their questions.
Headmaster resigns, staff suspended
Meanwhile, the students are demanding that not just resignation or temporary suspension, but a complete and impartial investigation into the incident and strict legal action should be taken against the culprits. Also, it should be ensured that no student has to face such a situation in future.
Meanwhile, based on the complaint of Manaranjan, father of deceased student Diptangshu Mahata, the police have registered an FIR against unknown persons on charges of culpable homicide and causing death by negligence.
According to the complaint, Deeptangshu drank hot tea straight from the flask at around 7.55 am on Tuesday and remained in the class for about two hours. His father said that when he felt unwell, his friends took him to a doctor on campus. Since he was not feeling well to attend class, a house master reportedly discharged him.

Deeptangshu’s friends alleged that he was not taken to the hospital until his father reached the campus. His father took him to the hospital after 1 pm.
Police sources said the initial postmortem report did not reveal the cause of death. An officer of Narendrapur police station said, we have not yet received the final post-mortem report. The initial opinion shared with us says that the cause of death has not been determined. Therefore we will rely on the viscera report. The school has suspended three house masters.
Sources said that the police have started questioning those students, teachers and school staff who were the first to reach the spot or who came to know about the incident first. His statements are being recorded. Police collected CCTV footage from Narendrapur campus.
Baruipur Police District Superintendent Arvind Kumar Anand said, investigation is being done from all possible angles. Hopefully, we will be able to reach a conclusion soon.
