
Two high level committees have been formed to investigate the Hamirpur bridge accident. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that strict action will be taken against the culprits. Strict instructions have been issued regarding the incident of collapse of segmental span (P-5 to P-6) of the bridge under construction on Betwa river. Two separate high-level inquiry committees have been constituted by the district administration and Uttar Pradesh Setu Nigam. Both the committees have started a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
District Magistrate Abhishek Goyal said that apart from this, a three-member investigation committee constituted by the district administration is thoroughly investigating all the administrative, technical and procedural aspects related to the incident. It is being headed by the Additional District Magistrate (Namami Gange). The work of inspection of the incident site and collection of evidence has been started by the committee members.
Strict action will be taken against those responsible for the incident
The District Magistrate said that Accident In relation to this, a case has been registered in Kurara police station under Section 106 (1) and Section 125 (A) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). The investigation of the case is ongoing, necessary legal action will be decided on the basis of facts, evidence found during the investigation and the reports presented by both the investigation committees. Strict action will be taken as per rules against the persons or institutions found responsible for the incident.
Immediate financial assistance of Rs 4-4 lakh to the family members
The DM also said that the government has provided ex-gratia assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the 6 workers who died in the accident. Apart from this, financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh has been provided to the family of each deceased worker by M/s Shelter Infra Projects Limited, a firm related to construction work. Under the schemes of the Labor Department, an assistance amount of Rs 1.25 lakh is being provided to each eligible family.
Victims benefit from social security and welfare scheme
The District Magistrate said that the affected families are also being covered under various social security and welfare schemes. The benefit of National Family Benefit Scheme is being provided to two eligible families. Late Rajesh Pal’s wife Anita and Pushpendra Singh Chauhan’s father Rajendra Singh have been benefited from the National Family Benefit Scheme. At the same time, action is being taken to cover Rajendra Singh, father of late Pushpendra Singh Chauhan, under old age pension scheme and Anita, wife of late Rajesh Pal, under destitute women pension.
Benefits of Chief Minister Child Service Scheme to the daughters of the deceased
DM informed that two daughters of late Rajesh Pal will be benefited under Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana. Under which both the girls will be provided financial assistance of Rs 2500 per month till they complete 18 years of age. Apart from this, benefits of Antyodaya ration card, housing, clean toilet scheme and other social security schemes are also being provided to the eligible families.
DM Abhishek Goyal said that the district administration stands with the affected families with full sensitivity and commitment. The benefits of government schemes will be made available to all eligible family members in a timely manner and necessary action will be taken against the culprits while ensuring a fair investigation of the incident. There will be no compromise in compliance with quality and safety standards in construction works.
