There is a period of political turmoil going on in Mamata’s party TMC. Here first 58 MLAs rebelled, now it is the turn of the MPs. Now TMC Rajya Sabha MP Sukhendu Shekhar Rai has resigned. He has cited corruption and nepotism as the reason behind his resignation. He said that in the recently held assembly elections, the people of West Bengal completely rejected the Trinamool Congress government’s corruption, nepotism and its failures in the sectors of education, health, industry, employment, law and order and infrastructure, as well as appeasement politics after 14 years of rule.
He said that ignoring all these shortcomings, the public has given a historic and decisive victory to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the first time in the history of Bengal. He said that the newly elected BJP government has started several initiatives to implement its election manifesto and for the all-round development and reconstruction of Bengal. Sukhendu Shekhar said that respecting this historic mandate of the people, I resign from the primary membership of Trinamool Congress and my membership of Rajya Sabha.
