An amazing feature is going to come soon on Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp named Spoiler Messages. Whenever it comes to chatting, everyone becomes more careful, now the app has the facility of end-to-end encryption whose purpose is to keep the chat private. But now preparations are being made to add an extra layer of privacy through spoiler messages. Like Telegram, you will soon be able to send OTP or any sensitive message to the other person by hiding (blurring) it with the help of spoiler feature on WhatsApp. Beta testers will be able to use this feature soon, if everything goes well then this feature can be rolled out soon. WABetaInfo, a site that monitors WhatsApp development, has shared a video on X which shows this new feature of WhatsApp which hides the messages behind a blurred layer.
How does WhatsApp Spoiler Message feature work?
To use the spoiler message feature, type a message, then long press the message. After this select all the text, after selection you will get options like translate, cut, copy and select all. Apart from all these options, there will also be three dots.
When you click on the three dots, several options will pop up in a vertical list along with the writing option, such as Share, Undo, Bold, Italic, Strikethrough, Monospace, Spoiler and Manage App. You have to click on the spoiler option.
The person receiving the message will see the message in blurred text. To view the text, the receiver must tap the message. Spoiler message support for videos and images may also be added in the future.
