
Sonam Wangchuk case was heard in Delhi High Court. During this, the High Court said that there is no need to issue any interim order at this stage. The court directed Wangchuk to cooperate with the doctors and also rejected his demand to shift him to a private hospital. The court said that the decision to send Wangchuk to the hospital was not arbitrary. A notice has been issued to Delhi Police in this case and the next hearing has been fixed on July 24.
Earlier, Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Chetan Sharma, appearing on behalf of the Central Government in the court in the case related to Sonam Wangchuk, told the court that Wangchuk had earlier refused to take IV-drip. But even then approval was given for it. On this the court asked whether this treatment was given to him against his will? On this, Additional Solicitor General Chetan Sharma told the court that yes, he had only asked whether sugar-free medicine was available.
Gave information about Wangchuk’s medical condition
ASG further said that like any other citizen of the country, they should also have faith in the treatment of doctors. They are being taken full care of but they should also cooperate with the doctors. ASG told that AIIMS doctors are present in the court, they can also give information. After which AIIMS doctors gave information about the medical condition of Sonam Wangchuk. This hearing is being held in the court of Justice Mini Pushkarna.
Demand to shift to private hospital
On the other hand, in the petition filed in Delhi High Court, serious questions were raised by Sonam Wangchuk’s wife Geetanjali on the functioning of Safdarjung Hospital. Also, permission was sought to discharge Sonam Wangchuk or shift her to a private hospital of her choice. Kapil Sibal started the debate on behalf of Sonam Wangchuk and said that he wants her release. He told that he has spoken to Medanta Hospital and said that he is not being allowed to meet his lawyer and doctor.
Don’t know what medicines are being given to Wanguchak
Kapil Sibal told that on the 17th, the doctors of RML Hospital met him and examined him. On the morning of 18th, he was sent to Safdarjung Hospital. Neither his doctor nor his lawyer could meet him. We don’t even know what medicines were given to him. We decided that he should be discharged from the hospital; He was neither in custody nor facing any charges.
