
Delhi High Court called for all the reports and doctors, demanding to discharge Sonam Wangchuk from Safdarjung Hospital and shift her to Medanta Hospital. Delhi High Court Sonam Wangchuk Asked for medical report, will listen to doctors before deciding on the application for shifting to a private hospital.
The Delhi High Court on Monday sought all medical reports related to activist Sonam Wangchuk and directed doctors of Safdarjung Hospital and AIIMS to assist the court before deciding on her plea seeking transfer to a private hospital of her choice.
Hearing on Wangchuk’s wife’s petition
The division bench of Chief Justice DK Upadhyay and Justice Tejas Karia gave these instructions while hearing the appeal of Wangchuk’s wife Dr Geetanjali Angmo. In the appeal, an appeal was made against the order of the single judge, in which permission was refused to transfer Wangchuk from Safdarjung Hospital.
The court said that we direct that keeping in mind all the circumstances and arguments, all the pathological reports prepared on the basis of examination of samples in Safdarjung Hospital, AIIMS and private labs should be filed in an affidavit and confirmed by the director of the hospital.
The court further said that the petitioner will also submit the lab and pathological report based on the test of her husband’s blood or urine sample.
Sonam Wangchuk case will be heard tomorrow
The court asked who is leading the medical team? SG said that the Medical Superintendent is taking the lead. ASG said that this is a team which includes medical experts. The court said that our request is that the in-charge of AIIMS and other consulting and treating doctors should be present to help. Delhi High Court will now hear the case tomorrow at 12:30 pm.
Wangchuk was taken away by Delhi Police on July 18 from Jantar Mantar, where he was on a hunger strike with the Cockroach Janata Party and students protesting against the NEET paper leak.
On July 16, the same division bench had directed the Center to ensure his daily clinical monitoring and provide treatment if needed, after which he was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital for medical help. His wife’s interim plea for transfer to a private hospital was rejected by the single judge on Sunday.
