
Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed about monsoon in the cabinet meeting. During this time, he instructed all disaster related departments to remain alert. PM Modi has asked the states and concerned ministries to be fully prepared to deal with the possible threats arising from ‘El Nino’ and weak monsoon. In view of the heavy rains that have started in many parts of the country and the changing weather patterns globally, the Central Government is fully prepared.
According to sources, this time due to El Nino, there will be a lot of change in the condition of monsoon. During this period, monsoon may remain deficient in many places. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of excessive rainfall at some places and scanty rainfall at other places. In such a situation, all the concerned ministries have been asked to keep preparations.
According to sources, the ministries concerned have been advised to be prepared. Ten major ministries related to this matter have been entrusted with the responsibility. It is believed that the demand for electricity is likely to increase. In such a situation, emphasis was laid on paying attention to the repair and maintenance of electrical cables. Instructions were given to coordinate with the states so that necessary steps can be taken.
Coordination among states is necessary to deal with El Nino
While giving instructions to the Cabinet, PM Modi said, ‘Be prepared to deal with the effects of El Nino’. ‘Work should be done on a plan to reduce the impact of El Nino. During this, he gave the example of Europe in the matter of climate change. The Prime Minister said that coordination with the states is very important to deal with El Nino. Therefore, all states should be prepared with coordination.
PM gave advice to save water
According to the World Meteorological Organization and the Meteorological Department, El Nino being active in the Pacific Ocean may affect the monsoon and rain patterns. In view of this, PM Modi has advised all the states to conserve water to deal with situations like drought and extreme heat.
