Smriti Mandhana Fastest Fifty In Test: Indian team’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana made the women’s Test match being played for the first time at the historic ground of Lord’s more memorable with her brilliant performance. In this match, while on one side the Indian team had a disappointing start and opener Shefali Verma returned to the pavilion without opening her account, on the other side Smriti Mandhana kept the lead like a rock. Batting intelligently against the England bowlers, he scored the fastest half-century of his Test career.

Smriti Mandhana’s fastest half century

Playing in difficult conditions, Smriti Mandhana completed her half-century facing only 50 balls. With this, she became the first female player in the world to score a half-century at Lord’s. This innings of Mandhana is also special because it is the third fastest fifty scored by Indian batsmen in the history of women’s Test cricket. Mandhana had earlier scored a half-century in 51 balls against Australia in Carrara in the year 2021, but this innings at Lord’s has now become the fastest half-century of her Test career.

Fastest innings in women’s test history

The record of scoring the fastest half-century in women’s test cricket in terms of balls is still held in the name of India’s Sangeeta Dabir. He achieved this feat in 42 balls against England in the year 1995. At the same time, the name of England captain Nat Siver-Brunt is in this list twice.

  • 42 balls: Sangeeta Dabir vs England, Kolkata (1995)
  • 46 balls: Nat Siver-Brunt v South Africa, Bloemfontein (2024)
  • 48 balls: Nat Siver-Brunt vs Australia, Canberra (2022)
  • 49 balls: Shubha Satish vs England, Mumbai (2023)
  • 50 balls: Smriti Mandhana vs England, Lord’s (2026)

Fourth half-century of career

This is the 9th match of Smriti Mandhana’s Test career. She has so far scored 4 half-centuries and 2 centuries in Test cricket. Out of which 3 half-centuries have come against England only. But he has not yet scored any Test century against this team. In such a situation, Smriti Mandhana has a big opportunity this time.
