The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the case of theft of offerings in the Ram temple, reached Ayodhya on Thursday and interrogated Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai, member Anil Mishra and temple assistant administrator Gopal Rao together in the temple premises. Sources said that the members of the SIT formed on June 13, after investigating for six days and submitting the preliminary investigation report to the government, reached the temple premises for the second time, when the investigation team interrogated Champat Rai, Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao separately.
This time SIT has expanded the scope of investigation. This is not to investigate criminal conspiracy but to investigate negligence in the entire process of purchase and sale of land, commission betting and calculations. After reaching Ayodhya, the SIT team first interrogated Anil Mishra.

- SIT learned from Anil Mishra the entire process from counting to delivering the money to the bank’s chest.
Gopal Rao also interrogated
After this the SIT started interrogating Gopal Rao. Gopal Rao’s responsibility was to handle the expensive jewelery and offerings. Therefore, the SIT asked questions about the expensive jewelery and gold and silver found belonging to Gopal Rao. Apart from this, at the time of building the temple, when the Trust was purchasing all the land, Gopal Rao’s role was most important. Because his role was important in investigation, verification and purchase of all the lands.

Let us tell you that there has been an allegation of commission in the purchase and sale of land also. Therefore, SIT interrogated Gopal Rao about the purchase and sale of lands. Apart from this, all the guards, security personnel and re-hired members of the trust are included in the counting process. The SIT has also interrogated all of them separately.

After this, SIT has also interrogated Champat Rai. However, the purpose of interrogating Champat Rai was to match the statements of Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao. SIT wanted to know what Champat Rai had to say on the statements given by Gopal Rao and Anil Mishra. SIT wants to know whether there was any coordination among themselves? Who is hiding what and what is telling the truth?
