Mumbai: Is Vada-Pav the favorite street food of entire Maharashtra? Here people prepare it in different ways and eat it and you will find its stall in every street or nook of the state. It is said that if you go to Mumbai and do not taste Vada-Pav here, your trip is incomplete. Shweta Tiwari wrote in her post, ‘True Mumbaikar with her comfort food’. According to the actress, whenever she feels hungry or feels like eating spicy food, she tastes her favorite food Vada-Pav.

It takes some effort to prepare it but its taste is amazing. Let us tell you how you can prepare and eat Mumbai style vada-pav at home.
Ingredients for Mumbai Style Vada-Pav
Pav (as per requirement)
Green chilli (100 grams)
Roasted Peanuts (100 grams)
Red chilli (two teaspoons)
salt to taste)
green coriander
Garlic
peppermint
Potatoes (boiled)
Gram flour (as per requirement)
Prepare Vada like this
- First of all, boil the potatoes and keep them to cool. Now prepare the potato batter, for this add all the spices, salt and finely chopped coriander. Make balls out of it and keep it aside.
- To prepare Vada, prepare a thick batter of gram flour. If you want, you can also include salt and chilli in it.
- After this, dip the potato balls in it and fry them in oil to prepare pakodas. Your tasty vada is ready. Keep in mind that you have to prepare small drops of gram flour by frying them separately because it gives a crunchy feeling in the mouth while eating.
- Now prepare peanut chutney. For this, roast peanuts and then add red chilli, garlic to it and grind it coarsely in a mixer.
- If you want, you can also prepare spicy sweet chutney and for this you will need tamarind, jaggery and red chilli. By the way, this is optional.
- To prepare green chutney, grind green coriander, green chilli, ginger, garlic and mint in a mixer by adding water. Your vada-pav green chutney is ready.
- Cut the pav in half and spread green chutney on it and add prepared peanut powder. Now place vada on it and your vada pav is ready.
