According to the scriptures, Shukra Dev performed arduous penance of Lord Mahadev and then received the Sanjeevani Mantra as a boon. This is considered to be the magical knowledge or mantra by which any dead person can be revived. With the power of this magical knowledge, during the battle of Devasura, Shukra Dev had revived a large number of dead animals. Along with Sanjeevani Mantra, he received a place among the nine planets from Lord Shiva.
Became the guru of demons and was called ‘Shukracharya’
Shukra Dev is considered to have differences with the guru of the gods, Brihaspati Dev. For this reason, Shukra Dev accepted to become the guru of the demons. He was called ‘Shukracharya’ only for the protection and guidance of demons. Lord Shukra is of white complexion. The quality of femininity is more in these.
