Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar attacked Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He said, “What is Eknath Shinde’s own identity? If Amit Shah asks him to stand on one leg, he will do the same.” He claimed that Shinde had “kneeled” before the Union Home Minister. He also challenged the Shiv Sena chief that if he has the courage, he should speak against Amit Shah and industrialist Gautam Adani.
He said that Shinde can no longer take decisions on his own and has become a puppet of BJP. In the press conference, Kanhaiya Kumar said that the opposition INDIA alliance stands together on big issues, but Congress does not impose its conditions on its allies.
‘Parties in India alliance are independent’
Regarding the ‘India’ alliance, Kanhaiya said that the opposition alliance is united on major political issues, but the parties involved are free to take independent political decisions. He said, “We come together on a common minimum programme. This minimum program is to save the country from the politics of hatred and plunder. This does not mean that Congress will tell its allies what they should do.”

Amid discussions about the plans of Congress allies NCP (SP) and Shiv Sena (UBT) and possible political changes taking place in Maharashtra, Kanhaiya Kumar said, “Who meets whom and who joins hands with whom, it is their own political freedom.” He said that the ‘INDIA’ alliance was formed on big political issues and even today these issues are very important. Different parties can organize movements and programs on other issues as per their own.
Advised to dissolve trust on donation theft
On the Ayodhya Ram Temple donation theft case, Kanhaiya said, “The trust managing the temple should be dissolved immediately. The temple was constructed after the Supreme Court’s decision and its investigation should also be done under the supervision of the Supreme Court. The investigation should not be limited to just small-time employees. From Ayodhya to Delhi, everyone involved in it should be held accountable.”
