
One person died on the spot and several others were injured when a shell exploded near Sumalowali Dock near Asha Post area in Gulmarg sector of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday afternoon. Sources gave this information. He said that the deceased has been identified as Zubair Ahmed Bajad, a resident of Chandusa area of Baramulla district.
Initial reports suggest that the shell, which is believed to be a leftover unexploded shell from an earlier time, suddenly exploded when a group of civilians were present in the area. Many injured people were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately known.
