Actor Shekhar Suman gave his reaction to the student protest taking place in Delhi and became emotional. At present, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned and before this Sonam Wangchuk also ended her hunger strike. Shekhar Suman says that he is extremely saddened by the lathicharge on students. He said these things in the recent episode of his show ‘Shekhar Tonight’. Shekhar Suman has also mentioned the clips coming on social media and said that it was a horrifying scene.
At the beginning of the episode of his show, Shekhar Suman first expressed his views on the student protest taking place in Delhi. In the video, he has talked about the incidents that happened during the ‘Chalo Sansad’ march on 20 July 2026 and has told how much impact it has had on him.
What did Shekhar Suman say?
While talking in this video, actor Shekhar Suman said, “Whatever happened to the small, innocent, unarmed, helpless, innocent children at Jantar Mantar on 20th July, the way they were brutally beaten with sticks and bled to death, was such a heart-wrenching scene that I have not slept for three days, I have only cried.”
Further he said, “What was the fault of those small, innocent and young children, that they raised their voice against injustice and oppression, raised their voice for their rights, their future and above all for the future of the country. They raised their voice for a healthy education system, and instead of listening to their words, they were baton pelted. Tear gas shells were fired.”
Shekhar Suman also mentioned Mahabharata during this time and said, “Mahabharata did not start on the day the conch was blown, it started on the day Hastinapur stopped listening to its own youth, because history often takes a turn from where the throne accepts that it no longer needs to listen to anyone.” Apart from this, he has said many things in support of the students.
