Serving rotis Vastu: Do you also give rotis in hand to eat? The house will become poor!

July 6, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Serving rotis Vastu: Kitchen is considered the most sacred place of the house. Mother Annapurna resides here. The kitchen is the energy center of the house. This place is considered very important in Hindu religion and Vastu Shastra. There are special rules for serving the roti made in the kitchen. Often people unknowingly make such mistakes, which cause major Vastu defects.

These mistakes include giving rotis to someone to eat. Vaastu Shastra says that one should never give rotis directly into a person’s hand to eat, rather the rotis should be kept in a plate, otherwise it can cause great harm.

Poverty comes from handing out bread.

According to Vastu Shastra, if rotis are placed directly in the hands of a person, the blessings of the house go away. Not only this, by doing this, Mother Annapurna and Mother Lakshmi get angry, due to which poverty gradually starts coming in the house. It is said in the scriptures that bread given in hand is like alms. If rotis are given to family members and guests in this manner, then the virtue of providing food is not attained.

By giving rotis in hand, negative energy spreads in the house. Not only this, giving rotis in hand leads to ideological differences between the giver and the taker. Situations of discord and tension arise without any reason among the family members.

This is the right way to give bread in food

Roti should always be served to the eater by keeping it in a plate, plate or rotidan. Food should always be served while sitting and with respect. Three rotis should never be kept together in the same plate in the kitchen. The number three is considered inauspicious.
