He said that he expected that Khamenei had become unpopular in the country. Trump said he thought people hated Khamenei. But he was shocked to see the crowd of lakhs of people in Tehran. Seeing people crying in grief during the funeral, Trump said that perhaps these were fake tears.
‘Iran kept begging for an agreement’
Along with this, Trump also claimed that Iran is eager to resume talks. He said they are begging for a compromise. He said that both sides have agreed to postpone the talks until the funeral rituals are completed.

The US President also said that many top Iranian officials were present at Khamenei’s funeral and America could attack them if it wanted, but it would not do so because it is necessary for the leadership to be present for future talks. ‘They are all there,’ he said. We can kill them all with one bullet, but we will not do that because then we will have no one left to talk to. He said that both sides will not carry out any attack during the funeral.
Crowd gathered at Khamenei’s funeral
A huge crowd gathered at Khamenei’s funeral in Iran. Iran’s Health Ministry said that about 15 million people can attend the last darshan in 2 to 3 days. Temporary hospitals have also been built near the Imam Khomeini Grand Mosque, where Khamenei’s coffin and the bodies of some other family members have been kept for public viewing.
People raised slogans against America and Israel
The people in the crowd were wearing black clothes and raising slogans of ‘Death to America’ and ‘Death to Israel’. Some people were also holding posters demanding the assassination of Trump. During this time ‘Our only word is revenge! Slogans of ‘revenge’ also echoed. Iranian officials vowed to bring justice for the US-Israeli air strikes.
Mujtaba Khamenei was not seen at the funeral
The special thing was that Khamenei’s son and new Supreme Leader Mujtaba Khamenei was not seen at the funeral. He has not been seen in public since the war began in late February. According to reports, Mujtaba Khamenei was injured in the attack in which his father, mother and wife died. Since then he has been sending written statements only through Iranian media.
Iranian officials have announced several funerals in Tehran, Qom and Mashhad, but there are no scheduled public appearances for Mojtaba Khamenei. According to reports, security officials have refused to allow them to come because they fear that Israel may target them.
