But this film could never reach the theater nor could JP Dutta release it, because its shooting could not be completed. There was a dispute with the producer behind this film being shelved, due to which the film could never be completed. Now JP Dutta’s daughter Nidhi Dutta can give a new identity to this film after years.

According to media reports, Sarhad, which was veteran filmmaker JP Dutta’s most anticipated film in the 1970s, may finally get a new life after decades. There were plans to cast well-known actors like Mithun Chakraborty, Vinod Khanna and Bindiya Goswami in this film, but despite being in the news at that time, this project never started. Now news is coming that his daughter, producer-writer Nidhi Dutta is planning to restart this long stalled film, due to which this film has once again come into the discussion of the industry.

It is said that the reason behind JP Dutta’s ‘Sarhad’ film not being made was that the producer had withdrawn from investing money. Due to this, the shooting of the film was stopped midway and later got shelved. After this, JP Dutta had to wait for 9 years to bring his second film. After this, in 1985, he entered the world of direction with the film ‘Gulaami’.
