Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: Samsung can present its new foldable series at the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event to be held next month. Before the launch, new information has come to light about Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. This phone will be the successor of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. Alleged real life pictures and renders of both the phones have been leaked on social media, in which a glimpse of their design has been seen. According to the report, this time Samsung can also launch its first Wide foldable smartphone. The company has not yet officially confirmed any device.
New foldable shown in real life picture
Tipster Ice Universe has shared a picture on X, which is said to be a real life photo of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8. It has been claimed that a Samsung employee was seen using this device in the restaurant. However, the phone was covered with a special protective cover or camouflage skin, so that its complete design could not be revealed. Despite this, the dual rear camera setup is visible in the picture, which is present in the pill shape camera module. LED flash is also visible below the camera unit. According to the report, this device could be Samsung’s first wide foldable smartphone.

Difference can be seen between Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Ultra
In the leaked renders, both Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra are shown together. Both the smartphones are seen in blue color shade, but there is some difference in their design and size. Dual rear camera setup is seen in the wide foldable model, while the other model has a triple rear camera unit. This camera system is also placed in the pill shaped camera island. According to the renders, a selfie camera can be provided in the center on the cover display of both the devices. This indicates that the company can present both the phones keeping in mind different categories of users.
Discussion on changing the name also intensified
A recent report claimed that Samsung may change the branding of its next foldable series. According to the report, the model which was earlier being called Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, can now be launched with the name Galaxy Z Fold 8. Whereas the existing standard Fold model is likely to be introduced as Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. The company already uses Ultra branding in its flagship laptops and Galaxy S series smartphones. In such a situation, it is believed that the name Ultra can be used in the foldable series also to give a distinct identity to the premium model. At present, this information has not been officially confirmed by the company.
