Earlier, Shahabad Range DIG Satya Prakash had suspended four policemen, including Shahpur Police Station SHO, for dereliction of duty and mishandling of the situation.
Questions raised on encounter, criticism of government
Meanwhile, former Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey demanded the intervention of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in this matter. In a statement, Choubey alleged that Tiwari was killed in a fake encounter and claimed that the youth had no criminal record.
Ashwini said, “Despite surrendering his weapons and himself, his encounter is completely wrong and inhuman. Action should always be taken within the ambit of law. The culprits in this case should be given death penalty.”
The former Union Minister said that incidents of such fake encounters make people lose faith in law and order as well as the police. He also sought fair compensation for Bharat’s family. Sudama Prasad, CPI(ML) MP from Ara seat, along with a group of his party leaders visited Bharat’s house in Biloti village and met his family.
CPI(ML) MP said that encounter raj is going on in Bihar and many such suspicious incidents have come to light recently. Bharat was regularly raising the issue of rehabilitation of the people of neighboring Javainiya village who were rendered homeless in the floods. Sudama said, the state government should give special package to the homeless people and ensure their complete rehabilitation.
